Gerdien
Has a great passion for animals and the outdoors. Her day starts with the morning feed run and she relishes every opportunity to fit a horse ride in. She has a bit of a green thumb and loves being creative in the kitchen with her produce.
Above all, she cherishes time spent with loved ones.
Gerdien is thoughtful and gentle. She displays a high level of empathy and will always make you feel safe. Your wellbeing is her highest priority.
She completed her Social Worker Diploma in The Netherlands and has over 25 years experience in supporting others. She has experience in a wide variety of support needs; medication, peg feed, catheter care, personal care, manual handling, challenging behaviors, epilepsy, autism, mental health, communicating through the use of pictograms and photos and everything else in between.
Recent roles include, Accommodation Coordinator and Day Program Coordinator. She also worked on the Customer Intake Team and these roles combined have given her invaluable insight into how the NDIS operates and to have all relevant documents in place to comply to NDIS standards.
Jamie
Loves having visitors and showing them around. He enjoys the simple pleasures, like chopping wood for the evening fires and sizzling some chicken wings for dinner. He is in his element when outdoors and interacting with the animals. He will always make you feel welcome and share some funny stories about the day.
Jamie started out his career as an engineer but ended up working as a land surveyor. He worked in the construction industry for 20 years and then decided it was time for a change. He was inspired by Gerdiens' line of work and felt a calling to do the same. He joined Multitask, a local support provider, at the start of 2020 to work as a support worker and gained invaluable experience. He soon realised he'd made the right decision and thrived in his new working environment. In the meantime, the Live Live Hive was growing and Jamie joined Gerdien at the start of 2021.
